Prentice Hall Literature: Penguin Edition

Sundance 2009 began two weeks ago, and while I still have a few mini-reviews to post, I’ll join the chorus of commentary to present a final scorecard. My overall impression of the festival is that there were few films at the extremes I saw no

Three Genres: Writing Fiction/Literary Nonfiction, Poetry, and Drama (8th Edition)

Three Genres: Writing Fiction/Literary Nonfiction, Poetry, and Drama (8th Edition) Customer Review: Comes in quite handy
A required text (and the main one too) for my first Creative Writing class, Three Genres does just what it advertises: analyzes, dissects, and discusses the aspects of writing and reading fiction/non-fiction, poetry, and drama. Written and compiled by Professor Stephen Minot, Three Genres serves as a very handy assistant to getting started in writing your own material, mainly thanks to Minot analyzing various stories and poems and dissecting them to the last detail. Minot also further delves into avoiding the pitfalls that plague newbie writers, which is in fact the most helpful part of the textbook. Of the various stories and poems collected here, there is material from Robert Frost, Allen Ginsberg, Shakespeare, John Updike, and Carole Oles among others; which nicely display the varying forms of literature and what one needs to tackle each genre of writing. All in all, for aspiring writers, Three Genres is a helpful and handy guide to get your feet off the ground, and should definitely be checked out by anyone and everyone interested in a career in writing.

Customer Review: A Tremendous Help!
My book arrived to an exciting new owner. I got through as much of it as I could the first weekeend, hoping to learn more about CSS and XHTML. I was overwhelmed by the ease of read and by the wealth of knowledge gained by the awesome examples! If you need HTML/XHTML/CSS help like I did, I wouldnt sleep on this book. I bought the book because I used to work with Jeff Noble and he is a good friend, but I also bought it because I really needed help in this field and I knew he wouldnt steer me wrong.
